This year’s annual Clancy’s Shamrock Shiver Charity Plunge welcomed a huge crowd of community members determined to take a cool dip in the sparkling Gulf of Mexico waters on New Year’s Day in Bradenton Beach. The fundraiser takes place every year on Jan. 1 and volunteers collect donations from friends, family and businesses to benefit children and families in need through Caring for Children Charities. Everyone has a wonderful time with costume contests, raffles, and, of course, taking the “plunge.” This is the 12th year for the fundraiser, sponsored by Clancy’s Irish Pub, and officials estimate $25,500 was donated through pledges this year. After the plunge, the annual Post Plunge Party took place at Clancy’s Irish Pub in Bradenton.
