ANNA MARIA – The holiday weekend got off to an early start Wednesday night with the Anna Maria General Store & Deli’s The Night Before Thanksgiving party.
“I thought it went really well. I would guesstimate that about 200 people, mostly locals, stopped by to visit. With Bortell’s being closed for renovations, the party provided an opportunity for a lot of their regulars to hang out and keep the tradition of their annual Wild Turkey Wednesday alive,” store owner Brian Seymour said.
“The official ‘Thanksgiving Gobbler’ (Steve Rose) made a visit and took lots of pictures with everyone. It was a great night for locals and vacationers to be thankful and to celebrate the impending holiday season. We will be having another porch party the night of the holiday walk on Friday, Dec. 14 from 6 to 10 p.m.,” Seymour said.
