Subject: Tom O'Brien and the tree house
Comments: It appears that the city of Holmes Beach has known for some time that Tom O'Brien has not been capable of performing his duties at an adequate level. A PIP is for employees that are not meeting their expected levels of service. So the man that got the city involved in the tree house debacle isn't capable in his other job duties either. The city should quit bleeding money and finally decide that it was O'Briens lack of abilities got them into this mess and quietly back away from their needless persecution and prosecution. Their own police already determined that the tree house is on their property. Stop throwing good money after bad.

Subject: whitmore's latest rescue
Comments: Is Carol baby's crusade to save pelicans, or is to save her pol;itical career? The Boss of Anna Maria Island & Island Sun, Ed Chiles can smell trouble and has given a wake up call to Whitmore, after her disastrous animal shelter scandal.

Subject: Whitmore works to save pelicans?
Comments: She is saving pelicans? What about all the animals that die when she votes to
allow Mosaic to mine...every time. Mosaic clears the land with blow torches and kills trees, bushes, animals, etc.
And it seems she knew about happenings at Napier and I didn't see that she
sounded an alarm. This pelican effort is a good thing, but will never make up for all the other animals that suffered and died at her hands.

Subject: AMICCO Concerts move off Island
Comments: AMICCO concerts are in the weekend day. Why not move them to the evening-either weekend or weekday depending on performers' schedules? I bet you'd get greater turnout-traffic problem would be far less. Many more people on vacation will be happy to attend an evening performance vs. one during a beautiful day.

Comments: We started a friendship with Eric when we built our home in Anna Maria in 1980. He was one of those friends you could always count on...he will truly be missed!

Subject: Parade
Comments: My issue with the parade is this: If you are a business using it for free advertising only, at least have your work trucks decorated and your drivers participating. Some companies had 3-4 vehicles in the parade, no decorations, a lone person inside, not waving, smiling, throwing candy, nothing. I think each business should be limited to 1 vehicle. Would make the parade less commercial, more fun, like it used to be.

Comments: First of all you take life way to serious. You seem to be controlled
by anger and that's not healthy.I
thought very seriously about buying
a home on the island and went thru
many. What changed my mind was Hurricanes
ripping my house apart, and flood insurance.I bought a nice summer home
on lake Michigan very near Saugatuck.
It is a very small city, with many small
Art and clothing shops,Seven months a
year we are a very busy town.On weekends
Getting 8 to 10 thousand tourist,in a three square mile area.Yes we have our
traffic and parking problems but everyone
seems to take in stride.I knew this going
into the purchase of my cottage, but being
right on the water offset any of my
Inconveniences that I put up with.I guess
when I come to Anna Maria Island I do not
notice the tourist as much as islanders
do.It is, what it, is and the only thing
islanders can do is get over it before
it destroys your health.
