Comments: What do Anna Maria Islanders think about
Obama plans to segregate wealthy neighborhoods. They are going to be
able to buy any where in upper class
neighborhood through a special program.
The Island of rules will soon deal
With a less fortunate group of people.
Soon you will be forced to get some of
Flordia's poorest for neighbors.

Comments: this is all a waste of time, just like calling the sherriffs for parking issues. they dont enforce it! I just saw 2 so call parking enforcers on my street looking at 3 illegally parked vechicles with their tires on the blacktop just talk for a moment and turned around and did NOTHING! more of our tax dollars that the city is throwing out the window!!!! this is just a totaly waste of time and energy if they dont want to enforce things take them off the books.

Subject: Anna Maria Parking
Comments: Kudos to Mayor Murphy. Its about time that they started taking parking problems seriously. Get some tow trucks and parking boots on the ones that don't pay. Give the cops wreckers. What else do they have to do? Lets get pay stations down at Bay Front Park and swear in another eleven or so.

Comments: I agree with Gary F. No one likes to step or lay down on the beach on some ones Dog Poop..It would be nice if all dog owners would pick up after..same at the Holmes Beach Ball park.

Comments: I agree with you, a dog owner should
get a ticket for not cleaning up dog
Poop.Dog owners keep your dog on a
leash unless you are at least 100 yards
from other beach goer's.(AND CLEAN UP
AFTER YOUR DOG) Oakloosa Island will
fine the pants off you if they even
catch you on there white sand beaches.
They do have a dog beach in Ft.Walton.
Anna Maria should have a small area
on the north area of the island. Not
many people go there and you would
have to walk there because there is
no place to park. Most dogs will be
empty from the long walk.

Comments: Let them have dogs in designated BEACH area in each city. A dog needs exercise. At the end of White Avenue and at the south end of Bradenton Beach on the Beach and Bay side of Cortez Beach and the Coquina Beach.AMPD can police the area near White Avenue and they already have a station on the east side of Coquina Beach,

Comments: Your survey has sparked much interest and debate, evidencing a desire by dog owners to have a place on the beach to take their pets as part of a walk and for a swim, which doesn't require a drive by car and fear of death by passing speeding motorists.

To punish all dog owners because of the actions of a few is tantamount to forbidding parents of young children access to the beach because of dirty diapers left behind and careless behavior chasing birds.

A healthy, happy dog is one who gets regular exercise. The same holds true for a dog owner. There are places at either end of Bayfront Park which would be perfect for a spot where dogs might enjoy a swim during these brutal summer months, and would legalize behavior which is already a common occurrence among the weekend set. The nettles and needles from the Australian pines are not conducive to most human sun bathing anyway.

The wording of the survey was most likely not representative of the interest of those 40% of the population who own dogs. Most wouldn't want blanket privileges, but would want a spot in paradise to let their pets frolic in the surf.

A trip to the Holmes Beach dog park provides proof that dog owners are responsible people who pick up after their pets.

We should provide a place where our pets might find go for a swim and get some relief.

Comments: NO.....it is not restful, peaceful to have dogs about, barking , kicking up sand etc..People have started to think of their pets as " their children" they are too cute , can do no wrong etc. sorry but that is not true. Owners can not be depended upon to mind their animals and also clean up after them. Whether on a lease or not, they are allowed to run up to people walking or sitting, and whether or not on a lease they still still poop and pee in the water and sand.

pedestal and get a grip on your arrogance.Mr Fenstemaker you, only own
a little sliver of this island. Its
comical when you make such a fool
of yourself.But I am sure you can't
realize that.

Subject: No dogs on the beach
Comments: This island is no longer a neighborhood of locals who care. It is now a haven for weekly renters...and daily renters (thanks to some irresponsible rental agencies.) Let's be realistic...most folks who are only here for a week or a a few days won't pick up after their dogs if they were allowed on the beach.
