Concerts in the park resume

Anna Maria Island Sun News Story

Come join the fun and ease yourself into the weekend as the Concerts in the Park series resumes on Friday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Holmes Beach field north of city hall, 5801 Marina Drive.

Emcee Chris Grumley keeps the entertainment going, starting with an open jam session with local musicians from 5 to 7 p.m. To sign up, contact Cindy Thompson at 941-536-4257 or e-mail islandfestivals@aol.com.

After a half hour break, the music resumes at 7:30 p.m. with Shotgun Justice.

Bring an appetite and visit the Taste of the Island Food Court, featuring the best the Island has to offer. There will also be beer, wine, soda, coffee and water for sale as well as arts and crafts booths.

The kids will have their own entertainment, a G-rated movie on the big screen.

A portion of the proceeds of this event will go to Camelot Community Care, a therapeutic foster home in Manatee County. The Anna Maria Island Sun, Bullseye Indoor Pistol Range, SteamDesigns, NDC Construction and Thompson Academy are event sponsors. There is still plenty of room for vendors and sponsorship opportunities, according to Thompson.

The gazebo at Holmes Beach City Hall field will
be where the music emanates during the Concerts
in the Park, starting Friday, Oct. 26.
