The weather is perfect for a few rounds of golf and the action has been heavy at Key Royale Club.
Ernie Hauser and Bob Landgren took first place in the men’s weekly 9-hole tournament on Monday, March 22, with a low-net-of-partners score of 56. Carl Winkler and Jim Dunne came in second with a score of 60. There was a tie for third place between Frank Vikingstad and Omer Trolard and Carl Voyles and a proxy with scores of 63. Matt Behan and Charlie Knopp took fourth place with a score of 64, and fifth place was a tie at 65 between the teams of Mike Conlan and Austin Rice and Russ Olson and Chuck Hutton.
Bob Dickinson took first place in the men’s weekly 18-hole tournament on Wednesday, March 24, with an individual net score of 58. Four golfers, Omer Trolard, Joe Dickinson, Carl Voyles and Lew Winegarden came in second with scores of 62, and Bob Kral took fourth place with a 64. Dick Grimme, Vince Fanton and Bill Melvin tied for fourth place with scores of 65.
On Friday, March 26, Frankie Smith Williams, Joyce Brown, Gordon McKinna and a proxy took first place in the weekly co-ed tournament with a best-ball-of-foursomes score of 26. Rose Slomba, Pam Alvord, Gary Alvord and Jerry Brown came in second with a 26.
