Rotten Ralph’s, Ross Built take division titles

Dips Ice Cream had already sealed the deal going into this week and was crowned regular season Division I champion. Same scenario with Sand Dollar, a team that had dominated Division II all season. Undecided was the tussle between Rotten Ralph's and A Paradise Realty in the Premier Division, with Ralph’s clinching the title in its last game. Things were also tight in Division III as Jessie's Island Store and Ross Built toughed it out. Ross had the advantage by only needing to win its game without relying on other results. The playoffs also got under way Saturday as teams through all divisions looked to advance to the next round.

Playoffs

The playoffs got under way Saturday at the Community Center and first up was Premier Division second place finisher A Paradise against third placed Bradenton Prep. Edward Brown once again proved his worth, scoring 23 for a depleted Prep squad. It failed to contain A Paradise’s Kyle Aritt, who led all scorers with 24. Teammate Kyle Sewall added 12 and Troy Koszewski had 10 points. In the other Premier playoff game it was division champs Rotten Ralph's up by 11 at the half against Island Real Estate, but it was no pushover. Matt Bauer was the leading scorer with 21 as Ralph's moves on to meet A Paradise in the final, which was to have been played Monday, Feb. 16.

In Division I, Island Family Physicians did most of the damage against Fronius in the first half. The team jumped out to a 15 - 2 lead in the first quarter and sailed to victory 46-18, advancing to the final against Dips on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
