Manatee High Senior Jessica Pate will lead a free running camp for kids age 7 and older who are interested in getting in shape and learning about running on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday through Aug. 14 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the field north of Holmes Beach City Hall.

Kids of all levels of fitness are welcome. Pate, a rising athlete on the varsity track and cross-country teams at Manatee High, will teach stretching and jogging as well as the basics of running.

Her goal is to run in the 16th Annual ‘Canes Classic 5k or one-mile run at 8 a.m. on Sept. 1 at GT Bray Park. Anyone else interested in the event can register online at www.canesclassic.com. The cost is $15.
