When it comes to knowing which flooring products will tolerate the Island’s moisture issues, Greg Cobb of Aldrich Rug Interiors, is your man. An Anna Maria and Longboat Key resident for over 20 years, he has first hand experience in managing the problems associated with being surrounded by water.

Aldrich Rug Interiors is an established family business in Bradenton, with some of the original family members still working in there. It currently has about 15 employees and its installers work almost exclusively for Aldrich. The original company goes back to 1920, when Bill Aldrich established a rug cleaning company in Sarasota. Aldrich ultimately relocated the business to Bradenton in 1949 as a retail flooring store.

Don’t be fooled by its name and think that Aldrich Rug Interiors only provides carpeting. It sells and installs all types of flooring, including ceramic tile, stone, engineered wood, laminate, vinyl, area rugs and, of course, a huge variety of carpeting for both residential and commercial properties.

Greg Cobb has worked for Aldrich Rug Interiors for 10 years in an assortment of positions and is currently its ceramic manager heading up the ceramic tile showroom. And what a showroom it is with the largest assortment of floor tiles and decorative tiles I have ever seen. In fact, Aldrich Rug Interiors maintains a 3,000 square foot showroom in Bradenton, which takes up an entire block. Within that large showroom you will also see such a diversified selection of wood, carpet and tile products your head will spin. But don’t worry Cobb and the rest of the Aldrich staff will help you narrow down your selections and assist with a workable design.

Aldrich Rug Interiors is an extensive enough company to cover a large geographic area including all of Manatee County, the islands and as far south as Naples, working on Anna Maria every week. In addition, employees experience with large commercial jobs has provided them with the knowledge to handle anything. They provide complimentary estimates and will make samples available for you to take home or will bring samples to your home.

Some of the more exclusive products it carries are Shaw Carpets, Lauzon Engineered Hardwood and Crossville tile, but its product line includes all price levels and styles of products. As part of its commitment to customer satisfaction, the staff at Aldrich Rug Interiors iscontinually keeping up with the latest products and designs. For example, Cobb points out that vinyl plank flooring has come a long way from the original product in style and durability and should be considered for island living especially in high-traffic rental properties.

When you’re spending thousands of dollars to improve the look of your home, stability and service should be at the top of your list in choosing a company. Having a large selection of products just makes that decision easier. Aldrich Rug Interiors – a short drive from Anna Maria for a large world of flooring.
