Find friends at A Hair Day Salon

Anna Maria Island Sun News Story

Left to right, Faith Baglieri, Mary Smith and Marilyn Maro
welcome walk-ins to A Hair Day Salon.

When Faith Baglieri, owner and stylist at A Hair Day Salon on Cortez Road, opened her boutique hair salon in January of 1999, it quickly became a place where everyone felt comfortable. Just like a group of friends and neighbors gathering at an old time country store to get all the local news, the salon became a meeting place for faithful customers.

What’s evolved since then is a great little salon catering to many of the local seniors who live in adjacent Mt. Vernon as well as other Bradenton communities. About half the clients in the adult salon are men and half women. In fact, some of the male customers are so comfortable at A Hair Day Salon they say it feels almost like a barber shop.

The day I got together with Faith Baglieri, it happened to be the same day the Bradenton Herald ran a story about Albertina Dion. Dion, was about to celebrate her 107th birthday, and guess who her hairdresser is? Baglieri said both Dion and her daughter-in-law have been long-time clients of her salon, and she was thrilled to see the feisty centenarian featured in the paper.

Baglieri operates her low keyed salon with two other stylists, Marilyn Maro and Mary Smith. Both Maro and Smith have taught in beauty schools and all three women have more than 20 years experience each. With Baglieri originally from Pennsylvania, Maro originally from Ohio and Smith originally from New York, they represent states many of their clientele are from.

The salon offers traditional beauty salon services including $10 hair cuts, $12 shampoos and sets, perms starting at $38 and color starting at $25. The salon also does frosting, roller sets and blow dries and it carries some hair supplies for purchase.

A Hair Day Salon welcomes new clients and walk-ins that they always try to accommodate, and stress that they have customers in every age range. In particular, Baglieri and her staff want to thank their long-time customers, who are always spreading the word about the friendly salon, and tell them how much they appreciate their business.

If you’re looking for a homey welcoming salon, A Hair Day Salon could be just the place for you, tucked away in Mt. Vernon Plaza on Cortez Road near 95th Street and The Bank of America. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see all the big smiles and the framed Cathy cartoons on the walls.
