Some of the best skim boarders from
throughout the state of Florida are expected to converge
on Anna Maria Island on Saturday, Aug. 26, for the West
Coast Surf Shop/BeachHouse Skimboard Bash 2006.
The annual event, which is held at the BeachHouse restaurant
in Bradenton Beach, last year drew more than 500 spectators
and 100 participants and proved to be one of the finest
skim board contests the Island has ever seen.
This years tournament is expected to equal or
surpass that. Organizers have put together an impressive
array of sponsors, trophies and prizes, all of which
will be handed out to the top finishers in each of nine
divisions. Every contestant will receive a competition
T-shirt, goodie bag, lunch and one raffle ticket. The
top three will receive trophies and prizes will go to
the top four.
Once again, The Sun newspaper is one of the events
sponsors and will provide the trophies as well as complete
coverage.
