You would think that after more than five
years I would have profiled every condominium association
and subdivision on the Island, but there always seems to be
another one tucked away on a side street that I missed. Bayview
condos in Bradenton Beach south of the Cortez Bridge is one
of these.
Bayview condos was built in 1984 and has only eight units
on two midrise levels with secured gated parking under the
building. Directly on Sarasota Bay, Bayview residents have
a spectacular view of passing boats, dolphins, pelicans and
the Sarasota skyline, with west coast sunsets a short walk
across Gulf Drive.
The units are a little over 1,100 square feet, with two bedrooms,
two baths and a lanai. The association amenities include a
heated pool situated on the bay, elevators and a boat/fishing
dock. Monthly association fees are about $500. Rentals are
permitted and range between $800 to $1,350 weekly and $2,400
to $4,000 monthly depending on the season.
Sales are few and far between. The most recent one I could
find was in April 2002 closing at $330,000. There is, however,
one currently on the market with a local broker listing for
$695,000, as of this writing.
The location of Bayview condos couldnt be better for
both visitors and owners. Coquina Beach is directly across
Gulf Drive from Ninth Street South, which is a short dead
end street, shared by both single family homes and the Pelican
Cove Condos, terminating at the Bay. Besides being able to
walk to the beach, you can also walk to restaurants or pickup
the Island trolley for longer jaunts.
Bayview is another example of one of the Islands great
little spots which can be easily missed. If you like living
or renting in a more intimate waterfront environment, remember
Bayview condos in Bradenton Beach.
If you live in a condo complex or housing subdivision that
I may have not have written about in this column, feel free
to shoot me an e-mail and Ill consider it for a future
column rebolger@yahoo.com. In the meantime, enjoy your
home and lovely Anna Maria Island.
