"We just got tired of going seven days a week," said Marcia Mattick. "Becky went back to nursing. It was she and I who did the shop. It was too much for me alone, and when my manager decided to move back to New Mexico, there just wasn’t any way."
Mattick said she cried when she locked the door for the last time.

"It’s been two years of my life, and I’ll miss it and I’ll miss the people," she said.
"But I’m looking forward to spending time with my daughters. My 11-year old and I just spent the day at the beach. I can’t remember the last time we got to do that.
Mattick said neither the high taxes nor the costs of insurance played a role in the decision to close.

"We knew all that going in," she said. "That was just a cost of doing business. No, it was just that with just me to run things, it was just too much."
Mattick said the partners plan to hold onto the property, which is adjacent to her home on the northeast corner of Gulf Drive and Magnolia, but the shop and its fixtures can be leased.
