"Paradise
Found" is the title of this year's quilt to
be raffled as a fund-raiser for the Anna Maria Island
Community Center in conjunction with its Tour of
Homes.
The drawing for the quilt will be March 18, the
day of the tour. Tickets are $1 for one, or $5 for
six tickets. The winner does not need to be present
to win.
The quilt is currently on display at the Island
Branch Library and will be displayed at the Publix
grocery store in Holmes Beach on Wednesday, Feb.
15, Friday, Feb. 17, and then every Wednesday and
Saturday until March 11.
The idea of making a quilt
was conceived six years ago by Penny Reinholz and
Joan Pettigrew who formed the "Eyeland Needlers,"
a sub-committee of the Tour of Homes whose members
had an interest but no special experience in quilting.
The Eyeland Needlers have always used scenes from
the island as the basis of each quilt.
