WMFD is in first with a 6-3 record in the
AAA Anna Maria Little League baseball rankings. Duncan stays
in second with a 4-4-1 record and Morgan Stanley stays in
third with three wins, six losses and one tie.
Monday, April 25
WMFD 10, Morgan Stanley 6
WMFD beat Morgan Stanley 10-6 in this AAA little League game
on Monday, April 25. The pitching team of Tommy Price, Joey
Hutchinson, Shawn Conover and Blake Wilson gave up seven walks,
four hits and struck out nine for WMFD.
In the bottom of the first, WMFDs
Hutchinson doubled Hunter Parrish and Blake Wilson home. Hutchinson
crossed the plate due to an error bringing the score up to
3-0.

In the bottom of the second
WMFD kept up its strength. Justin Succa whacked a double;
Price singled Succa home. Price and Parrish each crossed the
plate due to errors. Hutchinsons second single of the
night sent Alex Burgess and Wilson home. The five run rule
applied and the inning switched to the top of the third, where
Katie Hunt began the scoring for Morgan Stanley. Hunt walked
and then scored a run off a series of passed balls. In the
botto the third, WMFDs Price ripped an inside-the-park
homerun, and sent Jonah Caster home.
William Brusso scored the second run of the night for Morgan
Stanley in the top of the fifth.
Brusso made it home on passed balls and an error. Teammate
Zach Evan singled Daniel Janisch and Zach Even home. Evan
scored Morgan Stanleys final run, but it was not enough
to overcome WMFDs lead.
Morgan Stanleys Even pitched first giving up two walks,
six hits and striking out six. Brusso pitched next, allowing
one walk, one hit and striking out two.
Wednesday, April 27
WMFD 15, Duncan 11
Tommy Price was on fire Wednesday, April 27, going 3-for-3.
Price ripped his second homerun of the week in the first inning
of this intense game. Price also hit a pair of singles, an
RBI and scored a run to lead WMFD over Duncan 15-11. Elijah
Toussaint was also hot, going 3-for-3, including three singles,
an RBI, and one run scored. Teammate Blake Wilson went 2-for-3,
including a pair of singles and two runs scored. Shawn Conover
and Justin Succa each hit a single and an RBI. Conover scored
two runs, and Succa scored one run. Hunter Parrish added two
runs, while Alex Burgess, Michael Dolan and Max Moneuse scored
one run each in the win.
Jordan Sebastiano led the Duncan squad going 2-for-3, including
a pair of triples, an RBI triple, and scoring two runs. Kyle
Crum went 2-for-3, smacking a pair of singles and an RBI double
and scoring two runs. Glenn Bower hit a pair of doubles and
scored a run. Troy Kozewski and Travis Belsito each whacked
a single, Kozewski scored three runs. Patrick Edwards scored
two runs and Alex Hall scored one run in the loss.
Friday, April 29
Duncan 13, Morgan Stanley 3
Jordan Sebastiano went 2-for-3 including a pair of doubles,
an RBI double and two runs scored to lead Duncan to victory
over Morgan Stanley. Teammate Troy Kozewski added a single
and three runs scored. Also for Duncan, Trevor Bystrom scored
two runs, and one run apiece came from Travis Belsito, Kyle
Crum, Patrick Edwards, Daniel Pimentel, Jake Rappe and Austin
Wash.
For Morgan Stanley, Martine Miller doubled and got an RBI
bringing Katie Hunt home. Daniel Janisch singled and scored
one run and Giorgio Gomez scored a run in the loss.
Roller hockey rolls on

Thursday, April 28
Play it Again Sports 8, True Value Hardware 6
Play it Again Sports beat True Value Hardware 8-6 in roller
hockey this week at the Anna Maria Island Community Center
gym. Patrick Anderson lead Play it Again Sports scoring five
goals. Teammate Broderick West scored two goals and got an
assist. Max Marnie also added a goal in the win.
Troy Kozewski lead True Value Hardware scoring three goals.
Zachary Facheris scored two, Travis Belsito scored one and
Patrick Facheris had an assist.
Saturday, April 30
Anna Maria Island Sun 5, True Value Hardware 4
Anna Maria Island Sun beat True Value Hardware 5 to 4 in this
close game on Saturday, April 30. True Values Travis
Belsito scored the first goal of the game with two minutes
left in the first period. Belsito skated in and beat two of
the Suns defenders, then whacked the puck in, far post.
Less than a minute later, the Suns Trey Stern banked
the puck off the wall to Wally Stern who scored from the right
slot.
Fifteen seconds into the second period, Wally Stern skated
up the right side took the shot and scored. Minutes later,
True Values Patrick Facheris battled it out with a Sun
defender, and launched the puck; the Suns goalie, Parker
Keegan deflected the air shot with his body.
True Values Patrick Facheris and Troy Koszewski supported
each other with some skilled passing throughout the game.
The Suns Wally Stern scored again after winning the
puck in a battle in the corner of the gym; the puck went in,
near post. Next, Belsito stole the puck in his own end, skated
down the right side, and dropped it in. Wally Stern scored
his third goal of the game off of a pass from Darren Phillips.
With ten seconds left, Wally Stern passed the puck to Trey
Stern, who finished to pull to 5-2.
True Value took advantage of the Suns scoreless third
period. Zachary Facheris skated up the right side and hit
the puck into the upper right corner of the goal. Trey Stern
took a shot, when True Values goalie Robert Tait used
whatever means necessary to keep the puck out of his domain.
With five minutes left to go, Belsito got the puck past the
Suns goalie, scoring the final goal of the game, just
one point shy of the Sun, which took the win.
