Immerse yourself in the lifestyle at Aveda salon and spa

By Pat Copeland

The vision of Aveda is connecting beauty, the environment and well-being.

"We practice Aveda’s vision and beliefs 100 percent," owner Amy Welch, said, and those beliefs include respect, social and environmental responsibility, inspiration and education.

The pedicure room is a popular place at the salon and spa.
"We only carry Aveda products and provide Aveda services. Aveda is a product line with an environmental mission. They are pure, all natural products made of plants and flowers. Aveda is a high-end line. You’re paying for pure products, advanced training and our commitment to that."

The other half of that equation is service, and the team of hair stylists, massage therapists, estheticians and nail artists has been specially trained at the Aveda Institute in St. Petersburg.

"We go there to learn the Aveda way and immerse ourselves in the Aveda culture," Welch explained. "We are a team salon, and we all work together. It’s all about the guests and what they need."

Those needs can include treatments for the hair, face, nails and body.

"Aveda is based on elements of nature — earth, wind, fire, water and air," Welch said. "All of us have these in us, but we are out of balance. To bring you back into balance, we use pure flower essences. It’s a sensory journey.

"All of our services involve touch. When you receive any service, it includes something special such as a hand treatment or stress relieving massage. Our mission is to make your day. We want to offer people excellent, consistent service."

There are also new services on the horizon.

"We are moving forward into a scientific, holistic approach to anti-aging," she noted. "We are looking at adding pulse light therapy, photo rejuvenation treatments and needleless acupuncture face lifts."

Welch invites people to come in shop for products and the store is open on Mondays just for that purpose. Products include shampoos and conditioners, styling aids, makeup, skin and body care lotions and gift items.

"We also will carry like-minded merchandise from companies with the same philosophies," she said.

The store’s services include hair cuts, color and perms; manicures and pedicures; massages, facials and waxing; makeup application and lessons and body treatments such as herbal detoxification and body wraps.
