"Sometimes our job is
to teach the public to make the egg stand on end,"
said Bolger, who also was recognized on Saturday for completing
training in electronic presentation and web-based technologies.
Bell asked auxiliary members to help recruit new people
into the volunteer group, which assists U.S. Coast Guard
Station Cortez in its homeland security mission. Auxiliaries
have lost membership since the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security began requiring security checks on members.
The following flotilla staff officers also were sworn in:
