LaPensee Plumbing in Holmes Beach is a genuine family affair. Not only does it provide an extensive menu of plumbing services, it does it as a family and has been for twenty years.

Au. 1 was LaPensee Plumbing’s 20th anniversary, and Karen and Mike LaPensee are enjoying the fruits of their labor. They’ve built their successful business from the ground up, and are now able to offer plumbing services and repairs as well as remodeling of kitchens and baths.

Their showroom on Gulf Drive, opened approximately 17 years ago, has an extensive display of sinks, faucets, shower fixtures, and vanities, which is a rarity in Manatee County. They can order just about any major manufacturer’s brand you may want and install it or sell it to you for installation. They also sell and install water filtration systems and garbage disposals.

Karen is the office manager, and her years of working out problems with customers and helping them make selections has given her a great eye for design. Mike works in the field pricing jobs, supervising his staff and making sure the jobs run smoothly. Their twenty employees include their son, Greg, who works full time for the company, and Shawn, their college age daughter, who works part time when available.

LaPensees have a fleet of fourteen trucks, provide 24 hour emergency service, and per their web-site, (www.lapenseeplumbing.com), offer senior discounts. Their web-site also has a virtual tour of their well stocked showroom. Their focus is primarily on Anna Maria, Longboat Key and northwest Bradenton, providing plumbing contractor services for existing residential properties and new construction.

Karen and Mike live on Anna Maria and are active in local charities. Karen is one of the organizers of the annual Anna Maria Tour of Homes. LaPensee Plumbing is also a member of the Anna Maria Island and the Longboat Key chambers of commerce.

Like so many other business owners on Anna Maria, Mike came to the Island from out of state (Michigan), and built a successful business and an equally successful family who can take pride in their unique blending of family and business. If Karen and Mike have anything to say about it, LaPensee Plumbing will be around for many generations to come.
