Susan James’ life has been under construction since April. That’s when she opened Salon West, and made the dream of owning her own business come true.
Although it only took her two weeks to renovate her new salon and open the doors for business, owners of the Shoppes of Paradise Bay had their own renovation ideas of turning the shopping plaza into a show place, and James couldn’t be happier.
James and her staff of six can take care of all of your hair and nail needs — styling, cutting, coloring, foils, tinting, you name it. She is also planning on adding a menu of skin care services, her specialty, in the not too distant future.
The stylists at Salon West are well trained and keep up to date on the latest trends in cuts and color by attending continuing education classes. Team members have brought their long-established clients, both seasonal and full time, with them to Salon West. They pride themselves on being knowledgeable and on top of stylish cuts and products, and they love their working environment, which James works hard at keeping friendly and relaxed.
Salon West also carries a full compliment of Bumble & Bumble hair care products and Glo Minerals, a line of pharmaceutical grade makeup, which James tells me is actually good for the skin. And since you’re shopping, don’t forget to check out the popular, crystal jewelry and Joya candles available for sale.
James can put together a great gift basket with hair care products, makeup and jewelry that is individually customized. And with Christmas around the corner, Salon West may just be your one-stop shopping center for those hard-to-buy-for folks on your list.
With new restaurants and shops scheduled to open before season gets going, James and the girls are expecting to be very busy in their new location. She told me that Cold Stone Creamery ran out of ice cream the first day iopened, but don’t worry, Salon West won’t have that problem, it offers too many services to run out of and they’re all low in calories.
