Dogs will fill the AMI Sun Plaza, 202 Palm Ave., Anna Maria, on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. for the 14th Annual Anna Maria Island Sun Newspaper Canine Halloween Costume Contest.
All participants must be registered by Thursday, Oct. 26, and there will be trophies for first, second and third place for three categories – most original, cutest and best celebrity.
The Sun’s celebrity judges – Anna Maria Oyster Bar owner John Horne, Anna Maria Mayor Dan Murphy and Anchor Inn owner Darla Tingler – will pick the winners.
Participants may be part of the entry by dressing in the same colors or type of costume as their dogs; some have used wagons or other props. It’s all in the spirit of fun, so come on out and join the fun.
